History of how human resources developed:

In the 20th century, the outcome of the Human relations movement which was formed due to Fredrick Taylor. He wanted to improve the economic efficiency in manufacturing jobs. He showed the importance of labor and how it increases labor productivity in the production process. This made other people want to improve human labor in a social and psychological way.

With Elton Mayo Hawthorne studies, he discovered that in order to increase productivity, he had to social and psychological factors into working instead of just motivating them with financial factors. This also established organizational behavior into the workplace and balanced the needs and wants of employees.

Later, after World War 2, Human resources starting to focus on employee management and included labor relations and employee welfare. This lead to Society for Human Resource Management to be founded which is how human resources began.
